Memories - Barbados Island Adventures with Rex.

Not very often does one run into real adventurers who have a fearless spirit of adventure and a capitivating sense of fun. This was Rex Wotton, a sailor, climber, scuba diver, and a great sport.  Rex Wotton ran the West Coast Watersports center at Coral Reef hotel. It was only a short walk from Settlers Beach. They took hotel guest diving and on daytime and sunset cruises along the coast. He was an expert seaman trained by the Royal Merchant Navy in all matters of navigation, sailing, diving, explosives, and marine work. Rex was just one of the most loveable Rogues in Paradise. He had a woderful sense of fun and used it to win over every situation. He was independent at an early age and often disappeared for days at a time, camping along the banks of Joes' river . He built campfires from coconut husk and twigs and cooked his catch with breadfruit, wild okras, plantain, and edible vines. He ate mangoes, and local berries like fat pork, and sea grapes, that grow along the beach.

Rex was individualistic from the start he often disapeared for days at a time to camp around the banks of Joes' river, catching shellfish to eat. He made campfires from coconut bark and twigs and roasted his catch with breadfruit, wild okras, plantain, and edible vines. He ate mangoes, and local berries like fat pork, and sea grapes, that grew along the coastline.
